Paul Pogba and Jose Mourinho are barely on speaking terms and are communicating via Manchester United assistant boss Rui Faria, according to a report.

The working relationship between Paul Pogba and Jose Mourinho has reportedly deteriorated to the point that the two are barely on speaking terms.

Pogba has fallen out of favour at Manchester United, being dropped from the starting XI on several occasions over the last few weeks.

The Frenchman was once again left out for last Saturday's FA Cup quarter-final win over Brighton & Hove Albion, having also been benched for United's Champions League last-16 second leg against Sevilla in midweek.

According to The Sun, Pogba has taken his exclusion badly and has been giving his boss the silent treatment, only communicating through assistant boss Rui Faria and the club's other backroom staff.

Likewise, Mourinho is believed to be sticking to his guns, with other reports suggesting that the Portuguese is happy to cut his losses at the end of the season and offload the £89m midfielder.

A number of third parties, including Pogba's agent Mino Raiola and France coach Didier Deschamps, have expressed concern at the apparent breakdown in relations between the Frenchman and Mourinho.

Pogba has made 27 appearances this season for United, scoring three goals and registering 10 assists.
