Liverpool defender Joe Gomez will reportedly spend a month on the sidelines after suffering an ankle injury while representing England on Friday night.

Liverpool defender Joe Gomez has reportedly been ruled out of action until the end of April.

On Friday night, Gomez was named in England's starting lineup for the friendly with the Netherlands but the versatile youngster sustained an ankle injury during the first half.

The 20-year-old was forced to withdraw from the Three Lions squad to face Italy on Tuesday night and according to ESPN, the player faces a lengthy period on the sidelines.

The report claims that Gomez will not be available to Jurgen Klopp for around four weeks, which would mean that the former Charlton Athletic man will miss the Champions League quarter-final tie with Manchester City.

Gomez has made a total of 28 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions this season.
