How Juventus could line up against Empoli

Sports Mole looks at how Juventus could line up in Saturday's Serie A clash with Empoli.

Juventus will be looking to bounce back from their first Serie A defeat of the campaign when they welcome relegation-threatened Empoli to Turin this weekend.

Juve lost 2-0 at Genoa before the international break, but still have a 15-point lead over second-placed Napoli at the top of the table.

Chasing their eighth straight Serie A crown, the Old Lady will be looking for their 25th league victory of the 2018-19 campaign against a team battling to stay in the top flight.

Juve recorded a 2-1 victory in the reverse fixture earlier this season, while the Turin giants were 2-0 winners when the two teams last locked horns at the home of the Italian champions in February 2017.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at how Massimiliano Allegri's side could line up on Saturday evening.

POSS JUVE XI vs. EMP

Out: Cristiano Ronaldo (thigh), Juan Cuadrado (knee), Douglas Costa (hamstring), Sami Khedira (heart)

Juve will be without the services of Cristiano Ronaldo, who picked up a thigh injury on international duty with Portugal. The 34-year-old has begun treatment, although it is understood that he will not face either Empoli or Cagliari on Tuesday night.

Douglas Costa, Sami Khedira and Juan Cuadrado are also all still unavailable, but Mattia De Sciglio should be fit to play a part if needed, having returned to training earlier this week.

Moise Kean scored twice for Italy during the recent international break and is in contention, although it seems likely that Federico Bernardeschi and Paulo Dybala will join Mario Mandzukic in the final third of the field.

Rodrigo Bentancur started the defeat to Genoa, but Emre Can, Miralem Pjanic and Blaise Matuidi are expected to feature as the midfield three this weekend.
