Argentina's Olympic boss Julio Olarticoechea reveals that Atletico Madrid refuse to release Luciano Vietto for the Olympic Games.

Luciano Vietto will not represent Argentina at the 2016 Olympic Games after Atletico Madrid refused to release the forward.

The former Villarreal striker was named in the squad for the Games in Brazil, but Argentina's Olympic boss Julio Olarticoechea has revealed that Atletico refused to release the 22-year-old.

"[Jonathan] Calleri will replace Vietto, who was not released [by Atleti]," Olarticoechea told reporters.

Vietto, who joined Atletico from Villarreal last summer, has been linked with a move away from the Vicente Calderon in recent weeks after only registering three goals for the Spanish outfit last season.
