Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone hits back at the critics of his team's brand of football, claiming that "there are a lot of ways to play well".

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has hit back at criticism directed at his team's style of play.

Despite leading Atletico to a second Champions League final in two seasons, there remains criticism surrounding Simeone's brand of football, which focuses on the defensive side of the game.

Simeone, however, is not bothered by the doubters and said that "if we all had a Ferrari that'd be one thing, but sometimes you have a Peugeot" when commenting on the difference between Atletico's budget and that of rivals Barcelona and Real Madrid.

"There are a lot of ways to play well. It's clear that the objective is to win," Simeone told AS.

"If you're on a national team you can choose how you play but when you're at a club where the budget varies from one number to another, it's clear that first you have to work to win.

"If we all had a Ferrari that'd be one thing, but sometimes you have a Peugeot. We're all right in football and the path can be reached in several ways. Then there is what you like and you can't be angry with the opinions."

Atletico will travel to Levante this weekend looking to keep their La Liga title challenge alive.
