David Silva has stated that Sergio Ramos is the only current member of the Real Madrid squad that would improve Manchester City's team.

Pep Guardiola's side face Madrid at the Bernabeu on Wednesday in the Champions League round of 16.

"I'm not going to give you my opinion," Silva joked after being asked which Real Madrid players would improve the City squad during the pre-match press conference.

"I have my colleagues and colleagues from the national, who I enjoyed lots of things with. In this case it would be Sergio [Ramos]. I've known him a long time, he's a leader and would be good for us."

Addressing the importance of Wednesday's meeting with Zinedine Zidane's side, Silva added: "We have to pay attention to our game, to play against Real Madrid and then in the league," he said. "We have won two consecutive leagues, a complicated league. Liverpool are amazing this year, difficult to do it every year and we focus on other competitions.

"Every game here against Real Madrid is really important. We are with our people for the second leg but in order to that we need to have a good match and a good result."

Following their European outing, Man City next face Aston Villa in the EFL Cup final on Sunday.
