Burnley midfielder Freddie Ulvestad moves to Swedish side Djurgardens IF

Midfielder Freddie Ulvestad ends his time at Burnley to make the switch to Swedish side Djurgardens IF.

Burnley have announced that midfielder Freddie Ulvestad has left the club to sign for Djurgardens IF.

The 25-year-old moved to Turf Moor in March 2015, but the Norwegian was never able to fully establish himself in the Clarets first-team squad.

Just two starts and five substitute appearances were made in league matches, and Ulvestad spent the 2016-17 campaign on loan at Charlton Athletic, where he made 31 outings in all competitions.

Ulvestad was an unused substitute during the 1-1 draw with Newcastle United on Wednesday night, but manager Sean Dyche has given the player permission to return to Scandinavia.

Djurgardens have handed Ulvestad a three-year contract.
