Arsenal have reportedly not held talks with contract rebel Mesut Ozil over a new deal since February.

Arsenal have reportedly not held talks with Mesut Ozil over the possibility of a new deal for more than six months.

The 28-year-old is currently in the final 12 months of his existing deal with the Gunners, having failed to agree fresh terms after demanding a significant increase on his current wages of £140,000 a week.

A lack of interest in Ozil's signature from other clubs over the summer led to speculation that he could be on the verge of signing a new deal with Arsene Wenger's side, but reports in Germany have suggested that the two parties have not discussed a new deal since talks broke down in February.

SportBild claims that Arsenal were the ones to pull the plug on negotiations, having discussed the possibility of offering the German playmaker significantly improved terms to remain at the Emirates.

A recent report claimed that Arsenal have offered Ozil £300,000 a week to sign a new deal, while Wenger has admitted that he has "hope" that he will stay.
