How Arsenal could line up against Olympiacos

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Arsenal could line up for their Europa League last-16 first leg with Olympiacos on Thursday night.

Arsenal will hope to avoid a repeat of last year's humiliating Europa League exit to Olympiacos as they gear up for the first leg of their last-16 tie with the Greek giants on Thursday evening.

Aside from third-choice goalkeeper Alex Runarsson - who was not even registered for the tournament - and Emile Smith Rowe, the Gunners have the luxury of a fully-fit squad for this game.

Smith Rowe's hip problem is nothing serious, but he was not involved whatsoever in Saturday's draw at Burnley and remains a major doubt for this game, meaning that Martin Odegaard is likely to continue in the number 10 role.

Nicolas Pepe had a 20-minute cameo to forget at Turf Moor, but the winger certainly looked threatening - albeit without an end product - so Willian could make way for the returning Ivorian this week as Bukayo Saka occupies the right flank.

Only a couple of weeks after Dani Ceballos's dreadful error gifted Benfica a goal, his midfield partner Granit Xhaka came up with his own horror mistake to give Chris Wood the easiest goal he will score in his career, but Mikel Arteta is unlikely to consider dropping his midfield lynchpin.

Calum Chambers was handed his first Premier League start since December 2019 at Turf Moor but should drop out for Hector Bellerin or Cedric Soares here - most likely the latter after he was given the weekend off.

Arteta has made a habit of chopping and changing in the heart of defence recently, but Pablo Mari has produced a string of impressive performances to keep Gabriel Magalhaes out of the side, and it would be harsh to drop the Spaniard this week.

Arsenal possible starting lineup:
Leno; Cedric, Luiz, Mari, Tierney; Xhaka, Partey; Saka, Odegaard, Pepe; Aubameyang
