Ed Sheeran's new single heading straight in at number one
Ed Sheeran's new track 'Bad Habits' is on course to go straight in at number one on this week's UK singles chart.

Ed Sheeran is on course for number one on the UK singles chart with his new track 'Bad Habits', according to the latest data from the Official Charts Company.

The new single, which has been noted for its similarity to Bronski Beat's classic 'Smalltown Boy', racked up an impressive 1.5 million streams in the first 48 hours of the window to put it on track for the top spot.

Should 'Bad Habits' hold course come Friday, then it will become Sheeran's 10th chart-topper, a feat that would have been achieved in the space of just seven years.

Olivia Rodrigo's 'Good 4 U' - on top for five weeks - is down to two in the midweeks, with The Weeknd's 'Save Your Tears' holding firm at three.

Meanwhile, Eurovision winners Maneskin show no sign of slowing down with their assault on the UK charts, with 'I Wanna Be Your Slave' provisionally up a place to five and 'Beggin'' up three spots to seven.
