How Manchester City could line up against Tottenham Hotspur

Sports Mole looks at how Manchester City could line up against Tottenham Hotspur on Monday evening.

Manchester City will be aiming to maintain their recent impressive record against Tottenham Hotspur when they travel to Wembley Stadium on Monday evening.

The Citizens have won 10 of their last 15 top-flight meetings with Spurs and were 3-1 winners here on their most recent visit in April.

As they did then, Pep Guardiola's men sit at the top of the Premier League table after starting their 2018-19 campaign with seven wins and two draws.

Ahead of their latest trip to London, where they have won four games in a row, Sports Mole looks at how Guardiola may set out his side.

Out: Eliaquim Mangala (knee), Claudio Bravo (Achilles), Ilkay Gundogan (hamstring), Danilo (ankle)
Doubtful: None

Guardiola has been further boosted by the return of Kevin De Bruyne over the past week, fielding the Belgian playmaker for the final 30 minutes of the 5-0 win against Burnley and for 70 minutes against Shakhtar Donetsk in midweek.

Having come through his first start since the World Cup finals unscathed, De Bruyne is once again expected to be used alongside Fernandinho and David Silva - Guardiola's preferred midfield trio.

Sergio Aguero was given the night off in the Ukraine, likely meaning that he will start against Spurs, though the Argentinian striker has failed to net in any of his last five league meetings with the Lilywhites.

There are decisions to be made in the wide positions, however, as Kyle Walker appears to have recovered from a knock and should take over from makeshift right-back John Stones, while Raheem Sterling will be keen for a recall in attack after being left out against Burnley a week ago.
