A report claims that Jose Mourinho has been in discussions with Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi about becoming the French giants' next manager.

Former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has reportedly already held talks with Paris Saint-Germain about becoming their next manager.

The 56-year-old has been out of work since being sacked by United just before Christmas on the back of the Red Devils' worst-ever start to a Premier League campaign.

Mourinho is already believed to have missed out on the Real Madrid job, possibly because of Sergio Ramos's intervention, but the Daily Record suggests that another lucrative position is soon to to open up.

PSG are said to have lined up the Portuguese to replace Thomas Tuchel, although there is confusion behind the scenes as to who would be the better choice for the French giants going forward.

The report indicates that Tuchel, the personal choice of PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, may be given another season in charge, with his side well on course to retaining the Ligue 1 title but falling well short in the Champions League.

Mourinho is the back-up choice if the ex-Borussia Dortmund manager fails to see in a second campaign in the Parc des Princes dugout, and the Special One is alleged to have held discussions with Al-Khelaifi in recent months.
