Sunday's Ligue 1 predictions including Paris Saint-Germain vs. Reims

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of Sunday's Ligue 1 fixtures, including Paris Saint-Germain vs. Reims.

Marseille vs. Angers (Sunday, 8.00pm)

With Europa League football firmly in their sights, Marseille gear up for their final home game of the 2020-21 Ligue 1 season against mid-table Angers on Sunday.

Les Olympiens fell to a 1-0 defeat against Saint-Etienne last time out, while Angers claimed a long-awaited three points over basement side Dijon.

We say: Marseille 2-0 Angers

Angers always seem to leave their shooting boots at home when travelling to rival territory in Ligue 1, and a well-drilled Marseille outfit should have no trouble nullifying the visitors' toothless attack.

A goal-laden showing against whipping boys Dijon will not count for much against Sampaoli's Marseille - who are a force to be reckoned with at home - so we expect the hosts to return to winning ways in routine fashion.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Bordeaux vs. Lens (Sunday, 8.00pm)

Bordeaux welcome Lens to the Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux on Sunday evening in a crucial game at both ends of the Ligue 1 table.

With only two games left in the season, the hosts are in danger of relegation from the league as they currently sit just two points above the relegation playoff position, while Lens are aiming to finish fifth and qualify for the UEFA Conference League.

We say: Bordeaux 2-2 Lens

Both teams will come out looking for the win as they fight for different reasons at either end of the table.

There are bound to be goals with the hosts conceding 20 in their last 7, while the visitors have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 12 league games.

Despite the superiority in recent form and league standing in favour of Lens, Bordeaux's impressive home record against their opponents will make this a close game.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Dijon vs. Nantes (Sunday, 8.00pm)

Nantes travel to the Stade Gaston Gerard to face Dijon in the penultimate game of the Ligue 1 season aiming for a win to move out of the bottom three.

The hosts are rock-bottom of the league and are long confirmed to be playing in the second division next year, while the visitors currently occupy the relegation playoff position in 18th, one point away from safety.

We say: Dijon 0-2 Nantes

After 15 defeats in their last 16, it is hard to look past Dijon extending that awful record as they face a side who are fighting for survival going into the last two games.

Nantes will come into this game with great confidence on the back of three straight victories and will see this as a must-win if they want to stay in the top flight next year.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Lorient vs. Metz (Sunday, 8.00pm)

Lorient manager Christophe Pelissier pictured in January 2021© Reuters

Lorient will look to take a step towards Ligue 1 survival when they host Metz on Sunday evening.

Les Murlus are currently 17th and one point above the bottom three with two games remaining, while their opponents are hopeful of securing a top-half finish.

We say: Lorient 2-1 Metz

Lorient's revival in the second half of the season has been remarkable and defeat to Lyon last weekend is unlikely to deter them on their mission for safety. We think that they could secure a huge three points here against a Metz side who look to already be on their summer holidays.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Montpellier vs. Brest (Sunday, 8.00pm)

Brest coach Olivier Dall'Oglio pictured in January 2020© Reuters

Montpellier HSC host Brest in Ligue 1 on Sunday, with the visitors looking to effectively secure their survival via a victory.

Montpellier, meanwhile, can all but secure a fourth successive top half finish in Ligue 1 by avoiding defeat.

We say: Montpellier HSC 1-1 Brest

With Montpellier likely to be tired and potentially unmotivated after Wednesday night's penalty shoot-out defeat to PSG in the Coupe de France semi-final, we can envisage Brest gaining a positive result on Sunday.

A point could be enough to keep them in Ligue 1 for another season depending on results elsewhere.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or draw.

Nice vs. Strasbourg (Sunday, 8.00pm)

Nice manager Adrian Ursea pictured in February 2021© Reuters

Nice host Strasbourg in Ligue 1 on Sunday, with the visitors looking to remain outside of the relegation zone.

Nice, meanwhile, are aiming to secure a top half finish for the sixth successive season.

We say: Nice 1-1 Strasbourg

We can envisage a share of the spoils on Sunday, with Strasbourg likely to come out fighting as they look to avoid relegation.

Laurey's side have been better on the road than at home of late, with avoiding defeat likely to keep their fate in their own hands heading into the final day.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

PSG vs. Reims (Sunday, 8.00pm)

With anything other than a win potentially handing Lille the Ligue 1 title, Paris Saint-Germain welcome Reims to the Parc des Princes for their final home match of the season.

Mauricio Pochettino's side dropped two points in the race for glory with a 1-1 draw against Rennes last time out, while Reims' winless run continued with defeat to Monaco.

We say: Paris Saint-Germain 2-0 Reims

Reims have virtually nothing but pride to play for ahead of this daunting contest, and that should be reflected in the visitors' performance.

PSG simply have to win if they want to take the title race right down to the wire, and despite a gruelling midweek encounter in the cup, a rotated side should have no problem easing to victory in the penultimate gameweek.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.

Lille vs. St Etienne (Sunday, 8.00pm)

Lille coach Christophe Galtier pictured on February 14, 2021© Reuters

With only four points needed from their final two games to wrestle the Ligue 1 crown off Paris Saint-Germain's hands, Lille welcome Saint-Etienne to the Stade Pierre-Mauroy on Sunday night.

Les Dogues eased past European hopefuls Lens by three goals to nil last time out, while Saint-Etienne solidified their position in mid-table by beating Marseille.

We say: Lille 2-0 Saint-Etienne

Both Galtier and Puel will be desperate to get one over their former clubs in the penultimate gameweek of the season, but the onus is clearly on the hosts to steer clear in the race for the title.

The Ligue 1 crown could be Lille's if PSG cannot better their result when they take on Reims, and despite struggling for consistency at home, we are struggling to back anything other than a routine win for the league leaders on their way to the title.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Monaco vs. Rennes (Sunday, 8.00pm)

A fascinating encounter awaits at the Stade Louis-II on Sunday night, as Champions League-chasing Monaco prepare for battle against European contenders Rennes in the penultimate gameweek in Ligue 1.

Les Monegasques boosted their chances of a third-placed finish by beating Reims last time out, while Rennes managed to take a point from their battle with reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain.

We say: Monaco 2-1 Rennes

Monaco boss Kovac has plenty of options for change after a midweek stroll in the Coupe de France, and the likes of Ben Yedder and Kevin Volland need no lessons in putting the ball into the back of the net.

Rennes are undoubtedly heading in the right direction under Genesio and will hope to keep their own European aspirations alive, but we expect them to just fall short in this one.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Nimes vs. Lyon (Sunday, 8.00pm)

Two teams desperate for victory at opposite ends of the Ligue 1 table prepare to lock horns at the Stade des Costieres on Sunday as relegation-threatened Nimes play host to Champions League-chasing Lyon.

Both sides marched to dominant victories in gameweek 36, as Les Crocodiles thrashed Metz 3-0 while Lyon eased to a 4-1 success over Lorient.

We say: Nimes 1-3 Lyon

The onus is on Nimes to boost their survival hopes with the unlikeliest of wins this weekend, but they would still need to shock Rennes on the final matchday even if they manage to prevail against Lyon.

Garcia's side are not giving up their pursuit of Champions League football that easily and boast an astonishing record away from home, so we can only back Les Gones to take the spoils.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.
