A group of Manchester United fans held a protest before the club's Premier League opener at Old Trafford against Brighton & Hove Albion.

A section of Manchester United fans held a protest against the Glazer ownership ahead of the club's Premier League opener against Brighton & Hove Albion.

The supporters' group '1958' recently stated that they would hold a protest before Sunday's encounter, stating that the Glazers were "unfit and improper owners".

Ahead of Erik ten Hag's first competitive game in charge of United - which ended in a 2-1 defeat - a section of supporters made their feelings known as they made their way to Old Trafford.

A large flag read: "Fight greed. Fight for United. Fight Glazers", while another stated: "We want our club back."

Fans then made their way to the Munich tunnel where they chanted: "We want Glazers out, say we want Glazers out," with the protests causing the club megastore to briefly close.

The latest demonstrations follow similar scenes that took place at the final three home games of last season, while a behind-closed-doors encounter against Liverpool in 2021 was postponed after protesting supporters forced their way into Old Trafford.

United went on to lose their opening league game to Brighton after a first-half brace from Pascal Gross helped the Seagulls claim all three points despite Alexis Mac Allister turning the ball into his own net in the second period.
