Former Liverpool manager and captain Graeme Souness admits that he is 'worried' about his former team's chances of winning the league.

Former Liverpool manager and captain Graeme Souness has admitted that he is 'worried' about his former team's chances of winning this season's Premier League title.

The Reds missed the chance to return to the top of the table on Sunday afternoon as they were held to a goalless draw by Everton in the Merseyside derby.

Jurgen Klopp's side have now drawn four of their last six Premier League matches, which has allowed Manchester City to move to the top of the division at a key stage of the season.

After watching the 0-0 at Goodison Park, Souness said that "City are now in the driving seat".

"I worry for them now. That's another kick. When you look at where they were, and I'm thinking in particular about the draws against Leicester and West Ham, and when Newcastle beat City, that was Liverpool's opportunity to really put a marker down and kick on and say this is ours this year," Souness told Sky Sports News.

"They have allowed City back into it and City are now in the driving seat."

Next up for Liverpool is a home fixture against Burnley on March 10.
