Bayern Munich are reportedly happy to sell veteran defender Jerome Boateng this summer if his £22m valuation is met, with Niklas Sule and Benjamin Pavard ahead of him.

Bayern Munich would reportedly be open to the sale of defender Jerome Boateng.

The club have slapped a £22m price tag on the 30-year-old and, should that valuation be met, the Bavarian giants would be happy to sell the centre-back.

Boateng has slipped behind first-choice partnership Niklas Sule and Benjamin Pavard - a summer signing from Stuttgart - and Bayern boss Niko Kovac does not feel the need to retain the experienced German, according to Marca.

Should Boateng leave, it would mean that the only senior options who could fill in at centre-half would be left-back David Alaba and defensive midfielder Javi Martinez, with 19-year-old Lars Lukas Mai the next natural central defender in the pecking order.

The veteran made just 28 appearances across all competitions for Bayern last term and could be tempted to leave in search of more regular playing time.
