Arsenal announce that ticket prices at the Emirates Stadium will be going up by 4% from the 2022-23 season ahead of the release of the club's latest accounts.

Arsenal have announced that ticket prices at the Emirates Stadium will be increased by 4% from the 2022-23 season onwards.

The Gunners - who already charge over £1,000 for a season ticket with no European football - are expected to announce losses north of £100m in their next financial accounts.

A season without continental competition and significant economic hits from the coronavirus pandemic will contribute to Arsenal's losses, and the North London club have therefore taken the decision to increase ticket prices for the first time in eight years.

A statement read: "After holding General Admission ticket prices flat for seven consecutive seasons, all season tickets and matchday tickets will be going up by 4% for season 2022/23. This is the first stadium-wide price increase we have made since 2014.

"We recognise that no one welcomes price increases, and this decision has not been taken lightly. Ultimately in the face of continued rising costs, we need to continue to drive growth in all our revenue streams – including matchday – as part of our aim to return our finances to a break-even position in the medium term."

In the same statement, Arsenal announced their intentions to make improvements to the Emirates Stadium, including a "major" roof refurbishment as well as turnstile readers and new big screens.

Should the Gunners - who are two points off the top four with three games in hand - qualify for next season's Champions League, a general season ticket will cost fans £1,268.
