Made In Chelsea's Sam Thompson says that he had permission from ex-girlfriend Zara McDermott to post a parody video about her on social media.

Made In Chelsea's Sam Thompson has insisted that he had ex-girlfriend Zara McDermott's permission to post a parody video of her on social media yesterday.

In a clip that he has since deleted, Thompson lip-synched to an exchange from the show that featured a tearful McDermott begging for his forgiveness for cheating on him.

"I'd just like to address the video I took down last night," he said on Instagram Stories today. "I found it quite funny - I think 99.9% of you found it quite funny!

"But to the 0.1% I'd just like to say I did have Zara's full permission to post that, I showed it to her prior and she understood the context of it.

"She understood it was actually me taking the piss out of myself and the fact Made In Chelsea has been there for every high and every low of my entire life.

"But she was on board with it, she understood it, I would never post something without running it by her, regardless of the fact that we're not together.

"It was in no way meant to be revenge or anything like that, and she got that. Maybe in a few months I'll post it again and the humour can be seen by all."

Made In Chelsea continues Monday nights at 9pm on E4.
