Enes Erkan: 'I'm very happy having claimed gold in men's kumite +84kg'

Turkish gold medalist Enes Erkan tells of his happiness having won the men's kumite +84kg final at the 2015 European Games in Baku.

Turkish gold medalist Enes Erkan has told of his delight after beating Jonathan Horne in the men's kumite +84kg final at the 2015 European Games.

Erkan defeated his German counterpart at the Crystal Hall on Sunday and has since been quick to highlight that he has happy having met his own expectations in Baku.

"We have been preparing for this tournament for three months and everything was as perfect as we would have wanted," said Erkan, according to the official Baku 2015 website.

"These Games were organised by the Olympic committee and I am now the first champion of the +84kg category in a European Games, so I'm very happy.

"In Istanbul at the European Championships I won silver and I promised myself that in these Games I would win gold - and that's what I've done."

Turkey currently find themselves in third place in the tournament's medals table.
