Sir Nick Faldo says that Jordan Spieth's collapse at The Masters will "scar him".

Sir Nick Faldo has claimed that Jordan Spieth will be 'damaged for a while' after letting a five-shot lead slip in the final round of The Masters at Augusta National on Sunday.

The 2015 champion had a meltdown on the back nine as he dropped shots on the 10th and 11th holes before suffering a quadruple-bogey seven on the 12th.

Spieth was vying to become the fourth golfer behind Faldo, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods to win back-to-back green jackets, but it was not to be as Englishman Danny Willett claimed a three-shot victory.

"This will scar him," the Daily Mail quotes Faldo as saying. "This will damage him for a while. We're all in shock with what happened to Jordan.

"What happened to Jordan it was so sudden, just bam. It was 10 minutes of golf. That's the harshness of it."

Willett is just the second Englishman behind Faldo to win The Masters.
