Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski heaps praise on Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp ahead of the Champions League game between the clubs on Tuesday night.

Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski has acknowledged that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has had a "huge impact" on his career.

Klopp signed Lewandowski during his time as Borussia Dortmund manager, and the Pole rewarded the faith shown in him with 103 goals from 187 appearances.

Lewandowski would eventually make the switch to Bayern, but the striker has nothing but praise for Klopp ahead of the Champions League meeting between Liverpool and the Bundesliga side on Tuesday night.

The 30-year-old told UEFA.com: "He made a huge impact on my career. I have to be thankful to him because of what we did together at Dortmund. We grew together and it's led me to where I am today. He's a great coach and a great person. I learned a lot from him.

"He's released that striker's instinct in me and that allowed me to make the next step. I didn't know that I still had so much potential, more than I thought, and that means he saw something in me that I couldn't see."

Lewandowski has scored 21 times in 27 outings in Germany's top flight and the Champions League this season.
