A report claims that Philippe Coutinho will be given a run of games to win over his doubters and kickstart his Barcelona career.

Barcelona will reportedly give Philippe Coutinho one last chance to prove that he is good enough to play for the club.

The former Liverpool midfielder has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot since joining in a £142m club-record deal last January.

Coutinho's underwhelming form has led to rumours that he could be sold on at a big loss in the summer, with Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain both being linked over the past few months.

Speaking last week, the Brazil international - who has just four goals and two assists in 26 La Liga appearances this season - admitted that he is living on borrowed time at Camp Nou.

According to Spanish daily Sport, though, Coutinho has eight matches to win over his doubters as talks are planned with his representatives for after next month's Champions League double-header with Man United.

Barca boss Ernesto Valverde apparently plans to use the 26-year-old more regularly between now and then as forward Ousmane Dembele is back on the sidelines with a troublesome injury.
