Elise Christie has become the first Brit to scoop two medals at the World Short Track Speed Skating Championships in Moscow, Russia.

The 24-year-old finished 0.273 seconds behind China's Fan Kexin to claim silver in the 500m final, but she narrowly missed out on gold, which was taken by Choi Minjeong of South Korea, in the 1,000m final.

According to BBC Sport, after the event, Christie admitted that she was "pleased" to have clinched silver considering that she recently mourned the death of her grandmother.

Christie grabbed World Cup glory in Turkey last month, as well as the European title earlier this year.
