Novak Djokovic beats Thomaz Bellucci in straight sets in the second round of the Rogers Cup.

Novak Djokovic has reached the third round of the Rogers Cup after defeating Thomaz Bellucci 6-3 7-6(4) in his first match since this year's Wimbledon final.

The Serbian broke the Brazilian's serve just once in the 52-minute opening set on his way to taking it 6-3, but Bellucci proved a sterner opponent in the second.

It was neck and neck throughout the second set, which needed a tie-breaker to decide, but Bellucci failed to convert any of the five break points he created.

His serve holding firm throughout the breaker, Djokovic wrapped up the match in one hour and 49 minutes to set up a third-round meeting with either Grigor Dimitrov or Jack Sock.

The victory was Djokovic's 250th ATP World Tour Masters 1000 win.
