Result: Heather Watson losing streak continues in Prague

British number two Heather Watson suffers a seventh successive defeat in losing to Anna Karolina Schmiedlova in the first round of the Prague Open.

Heather Watson has continued her poor form with a straight-sets defeat to Anna Karolina Schmiedlova in the first round of the Prague Open.

The British number two has not recorded a victory on the WTA Tour since before the Australian Open, and the 6-1 6-3 setback to Schmiedlova was the 25-year-old's seventh successive defeat.

The Slovakian breezed through the opening set with three breaks of serve, and although Watson managed to have success in the second, the world number 79 still struggled behind her own delivery.

In a match which lasted nearly 87 minutes, Watson's serve was broken on seven occasions by a player who was given a wildcard to enter the tournament.

Watson is likely to play one more event before the start of the French Open on May 21.
