Richard Gasquet denies Kyle Edmund a first appearance in an ATP Tour final after overturning a one-set deficit in the European Open semi-finals.

Kyle Edmund has missed out on a first appearance in an ATP Tour final after losing in three sets to Richard Gasquet in the European Open semi-finals.

The British number two has been in superb form in Antwerp and it appeared that he would breeze into Sunday's final after moving into a set advantage against the Frenchman.

Edmund also established a 4-2 lead in the second but he was unable to capitalise on his opportunity as Gasquet rallied to win five of the next six games to take the match into a decider.

It was one-way traffic from here as Gasquet broke Edmund's serve on two occasions to wrap up a 3-6 7-5 6--2 triumph to avenge his defeat to the 21-year-old at this year's US Open.
