Laura Robson has been forced to withdraw from her qualifying match with Madison Brengle at Eastbourne through injury.

The former British number one took to court with heavy strapping around her thigh, and after falling a set and a break behind to the American she made the decision to pull out of the tournament.

The 22-year-old has been blighted by injury for the past two-and-a-half years with a wrist problem keeping her on the sidelines for the best part of 17 months, and the latest setback has come at the wrong time with Wimbledon due to start in eight days' time.

The left-hander is likely to be assessed over the next few days before a decision is made regarding her participation at SW19.
