Former British number one Laura Robson reportedly suffers a setback in her recovery from a wrist injury as she pulls out of a Monterrey event.

British tennis star Laura Robson has reportedly suffered a setback in her recovery from a wrist injury.

The 22-year-old, who won Olympic silver with Andy Murray in the mixed doubles at London 2012, returned to action last season after spending 17 months away from the court.

Robson competed in eight events last year, but suffered a relapse and ended her season earlier than planned.

According to BBC Sport, the former British number one was due to compete in her first WTA Tour event of the season in Monterrey next week, but has withdrawn from the tournament.

Robson is currently ranked 553rd in the world.
