Great Britain v Uzbekistan – meet the teams

Dan Evans returns for Great Britain but Andy Murray and Kyle Edmund are absent due to fitness issues.

Great Britain face Uzbekistan in their Davis Cup World Group play-off in Glasgow, starting on Friday.

Andy Murray and Kyle Edmund are absent due to fitness issues but the hosts will still be strong favourites.

Great Britain

Cameron Norrie

British number two is making his second Davis Cup appearance having burst onto the scene against Spain in February, recovering from 2-0 down to defeat world number 23 Roberto Bautista Agut in five sets.

Dan Evans

Former world number 41 Evans is making his return to the Great Britain team since he was banned for a year in April 2017 after testing positive for cocaine.

Jamie Murray

The 32-year-old Scot is fresh from winning the US Open mixed doubles title with Bethanie Mattek-Sands and has an 11-5 win-loss record in Davis Cup doubles rubbers overall.

Dominic Inglot

Doubles specialist who is competing in his seventh Davis Cup tie. Inglot has a 2-4 win-loss record in the doubles, and reached the Wimbledon semi-finals with Croatian Franko Skugor this year.

Jay Clarke

Derby youngster set to make his Davis Cup debut this weekend having been called up for the first time. Made his grand slam debut at Wimbledon this summer.

Uzbekistan

Denis Istomin

Bespectacled world number 60 who is bidding to become the second Uzbek player to record 50 Davis Cup match wins – he needs to win two rubbers this weekend.

Jurabek Karimov

Youngster ranked 434 in the world and in his third Davis Cup. Lost to Antoine Bellier in the decisive fifth rubber of their 2016 World Group play-off defeat to Switzerland.

Sanjar Fayziev

World number 448 who has lost all six singles rubbers he has played in the competition. The 24-year-old has won one match in the doubles, though.

Farrukh Dustov

Experienced campaigner who will be competing in his 30th Davis Cup. The 32-year-old has a 20-30 win-loss record in the competition.

Khumoyun Sultanov

Teenager who made his Davis Cup debut in Uzbekistan's victory over Pakistan in April this year, winning the dead fifth rubber.
