Novak Djokovic has predicted that his Australian Open semi-final clash against Roger Federer will be a "great" encounter in Melbourne.

The two tennis stars, who have won 27 Grand Slam titles between them, will go head to head for a place in the final.

Federer reached the final four after a straight-sets win over Tomas Berdych, while Djokovic eased past Kei Nishikori in the quarter-finals.

"We keep playing each other in nearly every big tournament," PA quotes Djokovic as saying. "You don't need to spend words on his achievements - he is a great champion and someone I have a lot of respect for. It will be a great match."

The head-to-head record between Djokovic and Federer stands at 22 wins apiece.
