Great Britain's Bianca Walkden claims a golden-point win over Furkan Aydin in the +67kg preliminary round at the European Games.

Bianca Walkden has overcome a slow start to progress through the +67kg preliminary round at the European Games.

The Great Britain representative appeared to be heading out of the competition in the early stages when she fell 4-0 behind to Furkan Aydin after the opening two minutes.

That soon became 5-0 by the midway stage of the second, before the 23-year-old finally got on the board to trail by four points heading into the final round.

Walkden rallied with three points, while she earned a couple of penalty points conceded by her Turkish opponents to ensure that the contest would be decided by a golden point.

She required just 14 seconds to seal victory in the extra period, connecting with a defensive head kick for three points to run out a 9-6 winner.
