Ali Carter has won his first professional title since he was given the all-clear after battling with lung cancer.

Carter, 36, beat Shaun Murphy 4-3 in the Paul Hunter Classic in Germany.

Carter, who also suffers from Crohn's disease, was diagnosed with a tumour on his lung last summer, having already recovered from testicular cancer.

The tournament is named after snooker player Paul Hunter, who died after a battle with cancer in October 2006.
