New Zealand crush Wales in final Test

New Zealand run in six tries as they ease to a 46-6 victory over Wales in the third and final Test match in Dunedin.

New Zealand have registered a resounding 46-6 victory over Wales to complete the whitewash over the Dragons in Dunedin.

Despite losing the series last weekend, Wales were determined to end on a high note and they ended the opening quarter with a 6-3 advantage after two penalties from Dan Biggar.

However, it did not take much longer for New Zealand to strike, with Ben Smith touching down in the corner after a sweeping move to the right flank.

Wales needed to get to the break without conceding for a second time but after a Rhys Webb kick failed to reach its intended target, the All Blacks countered and another powerful move ended with George Moala getting over the line.

New Zealand held an 18-6 lead heading into half time and they soon extended that after the restart as Beauden Barrett received the ball close to the line and took his opportunity to get on the scoresheet.

Barrett recorded his second try before the hour mark, and it got worse for Wales as Dane Coles ran through to touch down soon afterwards.

Wales continued to fight until the end of the match but they posed little threat to their hosts and after launching a rare attack, they conceded possession to allow Israel Dagg to run the length of the pitch to cap an outstanding team performance with the perfect individual try.
