Scotland centre Matt Scott has been ruled out of the remainder of the Six Nations with an elbow injury.

The 25-year-old suffered ligament damage while playing for Edinburgh Rugby against Connacht on Friday.

A statement from Scotland read: "Further examination this Friday, March 11 will confirm if the player requires surgery on the joint, however it is clear at this stage that he will at least miss the remainder of the 2016 RBS Six Nations, and will return to his club for ongoing care and assessment."

Scotland, who sit fourth in the Six Nations table following one win and two defeats, will face France at Murrayfield this Sunday.
