Result: Saracens beat Bath to win Aviva Premiership title

Saracens win the Aviva Premiership title with a 28-16 win over Bath in the final at Twickenham.

Saracens have been crowned Aviva Premiership champions with a 28-16 win over Bath Rugby at Twickenham Stadium this afternoon.

Saracens were quick out of the blocks, with Owen Farrell diving over inside the opening 10 minutes after some well-timed blocking from Billy Vunipola, before Jamie George made the most of a Bath error to extend their advantage a few minutes later.

Chris Wyles added a third try of the match for Sarries shortly before half time after finding himself in space out wide, while Bath had only a single George Ford penalty to show for the first 40 minutes.

Bath hit back at the start of the second half, with the Aviva Premiership Player of the Year kicking his second penalty, before Jonathan Joseph cut the gap to 12 after carving a path through the Saracens line.

Ford cut the deficit further, but Farrell also had a shot at the uprights to make sure that Saracens remained comfortably ahead, ensuring that his side took the title.

Saracens last won the title in 2011.
