Italy prop Martin Castrogiovanni is banned for two weeks after admitting to stamping on Scotland's Duncan Taylor during a Six Nations match.

Italy prop Martin Castrogiovanni has been banned for two weeks for stamping on Scotland's Duncan Taylor during last weekend's 36-20 Six Nations defeat in Rome.

The 34-year-old prop came on as a second-half replacement at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday and later appeared to direct a stamp towards Taylor's foot.

Castrogiovanni admitted to the offence at a disciplinary hearing held in London today and was given a fortnight's suspension.

He will now be unavailable to play for the Azzurri in ten days' time against Ireland.
