Tiernan O'Halloran replaces the injured Jared Payne at full-back for Ireland's series decider against South Africa in Port Elizabeth on Saturday.

Jared Payne has been ruled out of Ireland's Test series decider against South Africa on Saturday because of a calf injury.

The 30-year-old was forced off three minutes from time in last week's 32-26 second Test defeat in Johannesburg, and his problem was initially diagnosed as cramp.

In Payne's place, Connacht full-back Tiernan O'Halloran is handed his first start for the Irish in the number 15 shirt as Ireland manager Joe Schmidt makes six changes in total.

Ireland can clinch their first ever series victory over the Springboks in South Africa with a win at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth.
