Legends leaving the game

The rugby world becomes a little dimmer every year when the brightest burning stars in the league start to peter out and give their fond farewells.

That time again
The rugby world becomes a little dimmer every year when the brightest burning stars in the league start to peter out and give their fond farewells. This happens every year - inevitably a batch of our favorite rugby players have to leave the game, as unfortunately even the bodies of the most legendary men can only take so much of a sport as intense and demanding as rugby.

While it may always seem like our favorite rugby players retire too early, they can only become legends when they leave the game, and it is the leaving that allows them to be immortalised; so as hard as it may be, we have to let them go, and honor the memory of their blood, sweat, and tears as much as possible.

Adam Jones bids adieu
We have lost some great players and watched some great stories climax and wind down, as all good things must do, but prop Adam Jones's retirement may be one of the hardest to hit the community for a while. At 37 years old, Jones officially announced his retirement to saddened fans.

This did not come as a surprise to many, however, and after an epic 18-year career with many great triumphs, Jones has said that he is ready to leave the game. He has been grateful for all the time he got with the sport, and still plans on scrum coaching, something he has been active in for a while. So though he is gone, he will not be forgotten.

All bets are on
While it is always sad to see your favorite players go, it does leave room for a new batch of players to craft their legacy. And with new players and shifting rosters, there are new odds available, which makes room for new betting opportunities and profit potential.

Those looking for sports free bets will find a lot of helpful content and betting tips, player and roster stats to maximize their chance to win big, all while doing what they love, watching their favorite teams and players clash for supremacy. Best of all, though knowledge of the game is crucial. The rules of betting can be complicated, so having some free bets to find your footing can save you from making questionable bets while you're still getting the hang of it.

When it rains it pours
It would be nice to say that the bleeding stops there, but the 2017 season had to bid a fond farewell to many great players that the league will sorely miss.

Roger Wilson - A player that needs no introduction, Roger Wilson has played over 300 professional games over the course of his career. Ulster even gave Wilson the MOTM award for all of the work he has put in for the club over his impressive and star-studded career. The highlights of Wilson's career includes going to the European Challenge Cup in 2009, and winning the LV= Cup in 2011. The game won't be the same without him.

Jamie Cudmore - The Canadian playing for Oyonnax officially announced his retirement as well. No slouch, Cudmore is known for having a long and impressive career. He plans to transition to full-time coaching after winning a Top 14 Championship in 2010, and appearing in four World Cups.
