A disciplinary committee opts against punishing England prop Joe Marler for striking Wales's Rob Evans at Twickenham on Saturday.

England prop Joe Marler has not been sanctioned for striking an opponent at Twickenham on Saturday afternoon.

A disciplinary committee concluded earlier today that Marler had struck Wales's Rob Evans in the 15th minute of England's 25-21 win.

However, in a statement, the committee said: "The disciplinary committee found that the offending would not have warranted a red card and so imposed no sanction."

As a result, the 25-year-old may now be clear to face France in Paris this weekend pending the outcome of a separate investigation regarding his alleged verbal abusing of Samson Lee.
