Chris Robshaw hails England's character after they beat Australia in the second Test.

England flanker Chris Robshaw has claimed that his teammates showed character as they sealed a maiden Test series victory in Australia.

Robshaw played a key role in defence as Eddie Jones's side withstood concerted pressure from the Wallabies to win the second Test in Melbourne and has suggested that England are keen to complete a whitewash in Sydney next week.

He is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "It's been a pretty special week and it was an incredible game today.

"Last week we were a little bit rusty but this week we were spot on. All the work we did in the week paid off and it showed the character of the team.

"We want to win 3-0, so it's straight back to work on Monday."

England's victory saw them move into second in the world rankings, behind New Zealand.
