Wolverhampton Wanderers announce a new TV rights deal that will see games broadcast live in China.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have announced a "groundbreaking" rights deal that will see the club's games broadcast live to viewers in China.

The move is part of Chinese owners Fosun International's plans to grow Wolves' presence and branding in their homeland following their acquisition of the Championship side over the summer.

The deal with Chinese broadcaster Letv Sports will see 10 games made available to viewers on a pay-per-view basis, beginning with tomorrow's Midlands derby at Aston Villa.

"We're delighted to complete the formalities with Letv Sports on this TV rights deal," said Wolves MD Laurie Dalrymple. "It marks an important first step in the club's long-term strategy of building the Wolves brand in China.

"Millions of Chinese citizens will be introduced to Wolves for the first time, and through the assistance of colleagues from Fosun we're in a great position to capitalise on this interest through the creation of the club's first Weibo page."

Wolves director Jeff Shi recently revealed that the club are planning to launch a new summer tournament in China featuring top teams from France and Portugal.
