Sevilla manager Eduardo Berizzo says that he is feeling "fine" after being diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Sevilla manager Eduardo Berizzo has said that he is feeling "fine" after learning that he is suffering from prostate cancer.

The La Liga side confirmed the manager's condition this week in the wake of their remarkable comeback draw at Liverpool on Tuesday night.

The 48-year-old is undergoing further medical tests in order to determine the best course of treatment for the disease and will remain in the dugout for the side as long as he is fit enough to do so.

"I would like to thank all the kind messages I have been given," Berizzo told reporters ahead of his side's league game at Villarreal on Sunday night. "From Balaidos on Friday, people that I know, that I don't know, Sevilla, the president, the players...

"I feel fine. I understand that I need to pay attention to this. I never think about myself and a lot less in this situation. I will follow what the doctors say and do what I have to do.

"I do not like to talk about myself and even less about being a victim in a situation like this."

Sevilla are currently fifth in the La Liga table.
