Norwich City 'paint away dressing room pink to cut testosterone levels'

A report suggests that the away dressing room at Norwich City's Carrow Road has been painted pink to reduce testosterone levels in visiting sides.

Norwich City have reportedly painted the away dressing room at Carrow Road pink in an attempt to cut testosterone levels in visiting teams.

According to BBC Sport, the Canaries have adopted a tactic widely used in American Football to give themselves an advantage.

Some studies suggest that a deep pink colour not only lowers testosterone but also reduces levels of aggression.

"Pink has an effect, not because it is pink, but because it's linked to childhood experiences," Dr Alexander Latinjak, a lecturer in sport psychology at the University of Suffolk, told BBC Sport.

"If it is true that pink lowers testosterone levels then the coach should know exactly how to use that advantage tactically."

The approach has had mixed success so far, as Norwich followed up their 4-3 league loss to West Bromwich Albion with victory over Stevenage in the EFL Cup last week.
