Soccer AM star 'Tubes' has revealed that he suffered a "major heart attack" on Sunday.

The 35-year-old took to Instagram to reveal what had occurred last weekend, and claimed that he could have died had it not been for the quick work of surgeons at St Peter's Hospital Chertsey.

"On Sunday I suffered a very unexpected major heart attack. Can't thank the surgeons and staff at St. Peters hospital Chertsey and the Ambulance crew enough," read the post.

"If it wasn't for your quick and efficient work I may not have been writing this message now. Thank you 💙. Plenty of work to do and surgery to have but I'm slowly on the road to recovery. Big love, yours in foooooooootball. Tubes x

'Tubes', whose real name is Peter Dale, posted the message on Thursday night.

The popular TV star shot to fame on Soccer AM, and has interviewed a number of high-profile sporting figures as part of his role with the long-running Saturday football programme.
