British comedian to be charged following Sepp Blatter prank

Swiss authorities are to charge British comedian Simon Brodkin after he threw fake money at FIFA president Sepp Blatter.

British comedian Simon Brodkin is to be charged by Swiss authorities after throwing fake money at FIFA president Sepp Blatter.

Brodkin showered Blatter with a handful of notes moments before the 79-year-old was due to address the media in a press conference in Zurich on Monday.

The 38-year-old was then led away by security before being arrested, though he was later released after questioning.

"He will be charged for trespassing because he wasn't allowed to enter the building," a police spokesman is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "If there will be a trial it is still to be decided by the prosecutor. Trespassing in Switzerland is just prosecuted by request like other minor crimes."

Brodkin's previous stunts include invading the stage during Kanye West's set at this year's Glastonbury Festival and trying to warm up with Manchester City players before a Premier League match against Everton in 2013.
