A man is jailed for four weeks after reportedly attempting to break into Jose Mourinho's London home while the Manchester United boss was watching TV.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho was reportedly watching television when a man attempted to break into his London home.

The 53-year-old was watching the Euro 2016 final between France and Portugal on July 10 when Gabor Roman, 25, tried to force his way through the basement door.

According to The Mirror, a Portuguese maid alerted Mourinho with screams after spotting the man attempting to break in.

A security guard, who had earlier seen the intruder trying to open doors on various properties in the area, managed to stop the man from fleeing.

Once the police were informed, eight officers were sent to Mourinho's home, where they handcuffed Mr Roman and detained him.

On Tuesday, Westminster Magistrates' Court jailed the intruder for four weeks.
