A number of Manchester United players reportedly scrapped their plans to attend last weekend's NFL game at Twickenham after the shock 2-1 defeat at Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon.

United lost their first league game of the season last weekend, which led to head coach Jose Mourinho blasting his players.

According to the Daily Mail, a number of the first-team squad had tickets to attend last Sunday's American Football game between the Los Angeles Rams and the Arizona Cardinals.

However, the players decided to dodge the event after reporting to Carrington on Sunday morning for a pre-arranged session following the defeat at the John Smith's Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

United will look to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they welcome high-flying Tottenham Hotspur to Old Trafford this weekend.
