Manchester United are charged with breaching UEFA's anti-doping regulations, and subsequently fined £9,000 following the 2017 Europa League final.

Manchester United have been charged with breaching UEFA's anti-doping regulations, and subsequently fined £9,000 following the 2017 Europa League final against Ajax in May.

Centre-back Phil Jones has been charged with directing abusive language towards the doping control officer, in addition to being accused of a "lack of co-operation and respect", according to a statement from UEFA.

As a result, Jones has been handed a two-match European ban and fined £4,500, while Dutch defender Daley Blind has been charged with violation and non-compliance of the procedure, and has also been hit with a £4,500 fine.

According to a number of reports, Blind was reluctant to take the test as requested as he wanted to celebrate with his teammates following their 2-0 victory over Ajax, which secured a return to the Champions League.

Ivorian centre-back Eric Bailly has already been banned for the European Super Cup and first Champions League group-stage match after being sent off in the semi-finals of the Europa League last season.

United have three days to appeal the decision from UEFA.
