Nearly a quarter of a million people have signed a petition calling for England to replay their World Cup last-16 tie against Colombia due to poor refereeing decisions.

A petition calling for England to replay their World Cup last-16 tie against Colombia has reached nearly 250,000 signatures.

Los Cafeteros supporters are unhappy with some of the refereeing decisions from Mark Geiger, who legendary figure Maradona suggested was not fit to officiate a match of such high magnitude.

Colombia boss Jose Pekerman also felt that England's players all too often attempted to con the American ref, and this is a view shared by many others.

Two days on from the Three Lions' penalty-shootout triumph in Moscow, just short of a quarter of a million people have signed the petition - set up by law student Juan Diego Garcia - calling for the two sides to face off again.

Garcia claims that VAR reviews should have been used on two occasions, including in the buildup to the second-half penalty awarded to England, which Harry Kane won and converted.
