Championship strugglers Bolton Wanderers are given one "last" extension by the High Court to pay their £2.2m tax bill.

Bolton Wanderers have been given a two-week extension to pay a £2.2m tax bill and avoided administration for the time being.

Lawyers told a specialist judge in the High Court today that "significant progress" had been made in plans to sell the club.

Tax authority officials want Bolton to be wound up because of their failure to pay the bill.

According to BBC Sport, Bolton have been told that this is the "last time" that they will be granted an adjournment.

The Trotters are bottom of the Championship and 10 points from safety with 11 games of the season remaining.
